Taking charge of your polycythemia vera
Polycythemia vera, or PV, is a rare blood cancer in which the body makes too
many red blood cells and may also result in too many white blood cells or platelets.
PV is a chronic, progressive disease. That means it doesn’t go away and may get
worse over time.;
Knowing your PV State of Mine—or where you are on your journey with PV—
may help you recognize when something isn’t right with your PV. That’s why
it’s important to ask questions, do your research, and partner with a doctor
who has experience in treating myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) like PV
and understands your condition.
